Suburban Driving School
Suburban Driving School (SDS) is certified by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to offer the 5 hr. prelicensing course and the 6 hr. defensive driving course. SDS is owned and operated by Bill Sullivan. He is our only instructor and has been teaching accident prevention / defensive driving courses for over 36 years.
We are unique in that we are a driving school, but we do not give behind the wheel driving lessons. We specialize in classroom discussion and instruction.
If you have a permit, take a look at our New York State approved 5 hr. Prelicensing Class, which is required by the Department of Motor Vehicles before you can schedule a road test. For experienced drivers, taking the Empire Safety Council's DMV approved 6 hr. Accident Prevention Workshop, Point/Insurance Reduction - Defensive Driving Class, will allow you to apply for a 10% discount on your vehicle insurance for the next 3 years. This course will also reduce up to 4 points from your driving record net total.
