McGinnis School of Driving

McGinnis School of Driving has been serving the needs of New Mexico since 1964. Wyett H. McGinnis started our original location at 2745 San Mateo NE and opened the location at 1523 Eubank NE in 1976 to better serve our growing community. The schools are still solely owned and taught by the McGinnis's. McGinnis School of Driving is now comprised of five locations in Albuquerque.

David W. McGinnis has been working and teaching in his family's business for over 31 years. He is now the owner and President of Driving Success, Inc. DBA McGinnis School of Driving, although he has been involved throughout the earliest days of McGinnis School of Driving. Mr. McGinnis still teaches the classroom as well as the in-car phase along with 18 other instructors. He is also a traffic accident reconstructionist for our Metro, State and Federal Courts. To this day, he is still sought by attorneys and judges for his expert testimony.

With the support of our communities and the efforts of Mr. McGinnis, McGinnis School of Driving continues to serve the State of New Mexico by educating our teens and the public on safe driving practices and attitudes. Our San Mateo and Eubank locations have been expanded and remodeled to include larger, updated classrooms and student lounges and our newest location at Montgomery and Tramway is more convenient to the foothills and far northeast heights areas.

McGinnis School of Driving The McGinnis family has been teaching New Mexico to drive since 1964 when the first school was opened by Wyett H. McGinnis. Over 40 years later, we are still family owned and operated. During that time, many driving schools have come and gone, but we are still going strong and have trained more that 245,000 students to drive. McGinnis is licensed by the Traffic Safety Bureau and offers our students 30 hours of classroom instruction and 7 hours behind-the-wheel driving. Unlike the public high schools in New Mexico who offer only classroom work, we at McGinnis are committed to teaching our students with a hands-on approach to driving.
